Did you know?

Its Easter...Did You also know? The tallest Easter chocolate egg was made in Italy in 2011. It stood at 10.39 meters and weighed an astounding 7,200 kg. The term Easter gets its name from Eastre, the Anglo-Saxon goddess who symbolizes the hare and the egg. The Easter Bunny originated in Germany, the idea was taken to America during the 1700s. Chocolate Easter eggs were not introduced until the early 1900s. Before the exchanging of chocolate eggs, gifts consisted of decorated chicken eggs and stuffed hollow cardboard eggs. Early chocolate Easter eggs were much smaller and solid, not  large and hollow as they usually are today. Different countries celebrate Easter in different ways. In Sweden they do not have an Easter Bunny, they have an Easter Wizard! Happy Easter one and all...

How Do We Support Our Customers?

Components on allocation – How Oracle can help?

The Electronic Components Supply Network (ECSN) has urged electronics buyers to review their outlook on lead times for components amid surging global demand and reports of allocation risks on certain products & manufacturers in the UK & USA.

It has been reported that sales of UK electronics components were up 24% in 2016, with semiconductor sales up 30% in 2017.

Global demand is also on the rise, with the Semiconductor Industry Association reporting that semiconductor sales across the world were up 2017 compared to 2016 – the biggest year-on-year growth since September 2010.

The growing demand in 2018 is causing a build‑up of extended lead times, with a large number of products now subject to lead times of as much as a 352 days !!!!!!!! – meaning they are effectively on allocation.

Manufacturers and their Authorised Distributors work hard to mitigate supply problems and protect their customers from extending lead times so most would not experience major difficulties but this has not happened and as a result organisations whose procurement teams have not been informed or simply don’t have the time to stay on top of this have been caught out.

So with all of this in mind Oracle Components are here to help you with any of your long lead time & extended delivery components and can reduce these delivery timescales by using our approved worldwide supplier database and look to deliver within 5-7 days.

There`s no harm in trying Oracle Components for any allocation part so please send us any requirements you have and we can prove our worth.
